The Internet and Safety.

What we are building here at 2ndcity is obviously hoping to tap into an increasing reliance upon Social Media in today’s world. Whether you like it or not, many kids are joining social networks including facebook (which TECHNICALLY, you have to be at least 13 to join). We will always seek to provide a SAFE place for kids to interact online, but more than that, a place where kids will be encouraged to bring real-world application to make their online time more worthwhile.

I was reading a blog talking about this today and they linked to a resource from NetSafe called “In My Day” and I would greatly encourage you to check it out. The website provides tools to learn how to be pro-active in monitoring your kids’ time online and encouraging them to develop tools to protect them from the worst parts of the online world.
